We craft products, test interfaces, examine users.
Hey there 👋
We're Etheric - A team of researchers, designers and product experts.
The market does quantitative usability tests and shallow research. They get a list of interface problems or a list of pains for the target audience.
We work using the Think Aloud method, drawing out all the root causes of the behaviour and perception of each interface element. We find out all the ins and outs of TA motivation.
We get not only a list of problems and pains but also an understanding of how to change the existing interface or how to craft a brand new product.
When developing a new product or creating a brand, entrepreneurs tend to hypothesize on their opinion, rather than on a clear brand image based on strategy. Such a product will not be in demand, and the brand isn`t clear for the audience. Without the strategy stage, both business and design will be insufficient. Design becomes a game of shape and colour, rather than a tool for expanding the brand.

Re.park - P2P Parking App
https://www.etheric.agency/project/repark
OVERVIEW
Our team envisioned re.Park - a mobile parking app with a decentralized marketplace, where people with available parking spaces can list them easily for drivers looking for long-term or just-in-time parking combined with easy to book on-street and off-street parking options.
PROBLEM
We focused on parking within the populated downtown of Prague after some preliminary stats gathering: 2011 IBM Study found 30% of traffic attributed to people looking for parking ⅓ Praguers spent about 20 mins on average looking for parking A typical vehicle is parked 23 hours each day Parking fees take 70% of direct travel cost in cities
SOLUTION
We designed and developed a system, which helps cities better utilize unused parking spaces both private and municipal. It provides analytics of occupancy of parking in the city resulting in better parking experience for citizens and tourists.

Finnabee - P2P Ladning Solution
https://www.etheric.agency/project/finnabee
OVERVIEW
The client wanted a decentralized lending marketplace, enabling borrowers to deal directly with lenders. The traditional lending process involves many intermediaries including brokers, auditors, and loan managers. That's why client came up with the idea of a blockchain-based P2P lending platform that could eradicate the need for mediators and provide end-user with a trusted environment.
PROBLEM
Earlier, people required intermediaries like banks, loan officers, loan processors and underwriters to build the trust. But adding middlemen to the lending process was expensive for both financial institutions and borrowers. Also, the involvement of many intermediaries slowed down the loan approval processes. Moreover, the different rate of interests offered by various institutions was one of the significant challenges for the borrowers.
SOLUTION
The blockchain could disrupt the entire lending process and reduce the cost and turnaround time. Lenders and borrowers from around the world can get connected through a decentralized platform. Terms and conditions embedded in the smart contracts bring trust in the system. Due to the immutable and transparent nature of the blockchain, the company can track the user's transactions to ensure the non-involvement of users in money laundering activities. By keeping the fixed rate of interest-based on the creditworthiness of the borrower, it significantly built people's trust in the lending process.
IMPACT
With a blockchain-based solution, borrowers were able to borrow money seamlessly without requiring the need to get approval from several intermediaries. The blockchain-enabled platform reduces delays, made quick approvals, eliminated the need for a middleman and brought transparency.

Planeta Kino - App Design
https://www.etheric.agency/project/kino
Despite going to the cinema is definitely a fun experience, ordering the tickets in many apps and website often feels like doing rocket science whilst it should be a more convenient and user-centred process.
We surveyed 25 people in person, aged between 16 to 40, who visit the cinema at least once a month. The questions were focused at their last cinema visit: Twelve said they wanted to watch a specific movie, so they were looking for the right time to see it. Three said they wanted to go to the cinema at a specific time of the week, so they were looking for the best movie available at that time. Ten said they want to go to the cinema for some evening this week. All of those answers apply to cinema's which are located near their work/home.
The users distinguished several pain points in a process of mobile booking: the process takes too long, hidden fees are applied, ticket sent via SMS (instead of the ability to use it in-app).
Taking into consideration all of the above-mentioned information we designed the app in a user-centred way. We created a menu in which is possible to book a ticket sorting by cinema, movie or time. Also, the ticket is received in-app and since the application is built for iOS it allows to save it as a card in Wallet. Moreover, we planned an update in which it will be possible to randomize some of the selection parameters and visit the cinema with a group of random people with the same interests.

OSA Tattoo - Website
https://www.etheric.agency/project/osa
USER PROFILE
The website's purpose is specifically for users to book appointments, learn about tattoos, or review the artist's previous work.
DEMOGRAPHICS
Demographic research revealed that value in tattoos is timeless yet esoteric in nature, though progressively they are becoming more widely accepted. It was inferred from the tattoo artist that on average, OSA Tattoo clients are Millenials. We concluded from said reviews that most visitors of the website were locals of Prague downtown.
USER GOAL&NEEDS
A tattoo is a lifelong commitment which requires a lot of research and emotional commitment. Thus, establishing trust with clientele through reputation, core values, and the demonstration of skill is the very foundation of tattooing. Therefore, the website must enable users to inform themselves of the service OSA offers, as well as his expertise and style.
DESIGN
In an attempt to combat the congested design of the original website, extensive consideration was given to the spacing of each element. To that end, explicit efforts were made to introduce typographical hierarchy to the site, making clear to the user what matters. In the creation of a new colour palette, consideration was given to OSA tattooing style and the atmosphere of her studio, thereby aligning her digital and physical presence.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the Product Manager at UniSender - all-in-one multi-channel marketing automation and lead generation platform. We currently have over than 100 employees and over 1.5 billion emails sent per month using our service.
For what projects/services did your company hire Etheric?
Our web application was composed of several design styles which led to overhaul inconsistency. We hired Etheric to decompose our app, introduce design principles and build Design System and UI kit in order to ensure visual consistency for the end-user as well as components consistency for the engineering department.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to have a single source of truth for our decision making process in terms of design solutions.
How did you select Etheric?
After a desperate search for the designer, we’ve found a portfolio of Andriy (co-founder at Etheric) and contacted him directly. We were happy to see a proven track of records, visual aesthetics, the logic behind certain design choices and excellent communication.
Describe the project in detail.
Once we decided to partner with Etheric, we had a series of meetings in order to assess the current situation and possible trade-offs we might be faced with during research and planning phases.
Together with our internal engineering department, Etheric made a choice of technology stack in order to deliver the best possible experience. After we’ve made our initial game plan - we’ve been introduced to the first iteration of the Design System, which was adopted by our engineering team.
Together, we continue our cooperation on Design System, UI-kit, forming Design Principles for our decision making and constantly improving our application by rethinking and rebuilding most of our features.
What was the team composition?
We had a chance to work with Andriy directly.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
After releasing the several new users flows done in cooperation with Etheric, we mentioned a significant increase of NPS and conversion rates across the boardd. Also, we’re constantly receiving positive feedback from our users. The cooperation between engineering, product, design and marketing departments became smoother as well.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The enthusiasm is in the air and we see that the challenges are not frustrating but inspiring for the team members involved in the process. We smoothly collaborated via Jira, Figma, Notion and some other case-specific tools.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Highlighs are the deep knowledge of UX principles, Human Behaviour Design, the outstanding feel of aesthetics, product mindset.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Our collaboration process is very smooth and we’re very happy about it.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Our company focuses on Advanced Data Analytics, providing services in Data Engineering and Data Science fields. I am co-owner and COO of the company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Etheric, and what were your goals?
We have developed our old website on our own at the time when the company was just founded several years ago.
The goal was to make new, modern, well-looking websites that would enable us to present our past projects, expertise, and the team in a better way and enable the visitors to easier navigate through the pages and find the information.
We also wanted to add new features like a blog or presentation of our products.
How did you select Etheric and what were the deciding factors?
We had a good recommendation from a business partner. Also, we met one of the Etheric developers in a company for which we also deliver services and have seen very good work done by Etheric for that company. The price was reasonable.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had several iterations with Etheric, all of them well structured and informative, thanks to that we could see the progress and shape the websites. Etheric have done the design of all the pages, though about different special features, visualizations, and inter-linking elements to make our website modern and unique.
They discussed with us why they think the functional design features would work, but were also very opened to our remarks and integrated very well all of our requirements. They built up quickly a prototype that was shaped continuously to the final form.
A Webflow framework to build the sites was used, Etheric also gave us all the instructions on how to manage the site content on our own.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
It was Andriy (design lead) and Ruslan (senior software engineer) who were responsible for both the design and development.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Internal feedback from our employees on the new look of our websites was very positive, all of them referred the sites to be more intuitive, with a much better look & feel, and simpler to find relevant information. Empiric measures are yet to be collected.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We had several iterative meetings, all of them well structured, meeting minutes collected, and stored in the cloud. We had a shared notebook to collect thoughts and agreements. Work was delivered in time, all the milestones were met.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They have high senior designers and developers and also very good project management and communication skills. They have a unique team and listen to customer requests. The overall experience with guys is just great.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I cannot find any, it was really very smooth and professional.

Developer & CEO of Canopy Apps
For what projects/services did your company hire Etheric?
We needed a competent UI/UX Design team who could design a beautiful iOS App.
What were your goals for this project?
To get an amazing design ready for Development.
How did you select Etheric?
I browsed through Dribbble and found their profile along with their amazing portfolio.
Describe the project in detail.
We started off planning the different screens of the App, agreeing on UI/UX things and laying out the guidelines for the final design. We worked it out milestone by milestone adjusting and finally got an amazing design!
What was the team composition?
I'm not sure, I know that there's a illustrator and a guy that designs.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The App has been released and people are IMPRESSED by the design. They are overwhelmed by the degree of professionalism and beauty.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Pretty effective, we worked through a "to-do list" kind of application knocking out tasks one by one. Very great and I had insight in what was going on all the time!
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Pricing to quality ratio and their eagerness to make you happy. I think we went over 3-5 concepts at the beginning to get the style right. They're dedicated.
Are there any areas for improvement?
At one point they bought some illustrations off the web, which is fine but they didn't tell me. I was a bit surprised, but we figured it out at the end no problems, they were very open and nice when I asked them about it.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I produce websites and mobile applications for small to medium businesses.
For what projects/services did your company hire Etheric?
I needed a reliable outsourcing partner to help me boost my clients internal development team for a new product. In particular I needed developers with strong experience developing native mobile applications and web applications.
What were your goals for this project?
I wanted to increase the velocity of our sprints for a fixed period and within a set budget. I wanted to ensure the company I hired had a good attention to detail when it came to the user experience and look and feel of the product. I wanted a team who could think on their feet and find solutions to user experience constraints associated with our chosen stack. I also wanted developers that could work efficiently alongside my clients internal developers, communicate effectively and work to processes we had in place.
How did you select this vendor?
I short listed a number of vendors that I found via sites like Clutch. 3 companies were considered but the decision came down to stack experience, attention to detail and cost.
Describe the project in detail.
The product Etheric worked on was a social network with complex messaging functionality and registration processes. It required native iOS, Android and web applications with a headless backend.
Etheric was responsible for full sections of the product which were broken down into epics across multiple sprints. Wireframes and Designs were provided but needed to be reviewed and amended based on stack constraints. Etheric helped find solutions for these constraints which maintained the integrity of the UX and Design.
What was the team composition?
Initially the team consisted of 2 Senior Developers from Etheric. This eventually ramped up to 4 developers - 2 Senior and 2 mid-weight. Throughout the project we had one Senior Developer who oversaw the solution architecture for the sections Etheric were responsible for.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Etheric were able to help us deliver to time and budget while ensuring the solutions provided were to the highest standard. The code they provided was clean and well formatted with clear mark-up. User testing detected minimal bugs. My client and I were delighted with the partnership and would easily hire Etheric again.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Etheric worked to sprints set out by me in Jira. We held daily sprints via online conferencing with Etheric and my clients internal developers. We then used an instant messaging platform for back-and-forth comms throughout the day. Communication was very clear throughout which I thought would be a challenge given language barriers and time differences.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was very impressed by their experience with our chosen mobile stack. Their problem-solving skills when it came to finding solutions that worked with the stack were exceptional. They were event able to help educate my clients internal team on areas of the stack which was looked at with awe. Their patience and collaborative approach made the experience a very positive one. My client and I were delighted with the partnership and would easily hire Etheric again.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I honestly couldn't find much room for improvement. Things can always be done faster but I'd rather them be done right the first time which is the experience I had with Etheric.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of 23Mercer, which is a wellness consulting company. I’m launching a startup for one on one engagement.
What challenge were you trying to address with Etheric?
I hired them to help with the app for the one on one engagement.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They're doing the entire UX/UI of the website and app as well as the wireframing from scratch. Some of the features they’re working that we needed are the ability to play and upload a lot of video to the talent’s profile and their ability to upload their availability as well. I’ve also hired them to create a landing page.
What is the team composition?
Our primary contact is Andriy (CEO & Design Lead).
How did you come to work with Etheric?
I found them on Upwork and I really liked how they kept referring to this work being their craft. They also gave me a lot of time during the interview process, which I liked.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent about $7,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in February 2020 and the work is currently ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their impact has been huge. I really just had an idea and they take all my concepts and put them into an app layout. They’ve taken it to another level and it’s just continued to accelerate.
How did Etheric perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re adaptable to any type of communication I want, which email and phone work best for me. We also used Skype a little bit. They’re always available and meet all deadlines. Their communication is very clear.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to pull a concept out of my head and put it into reality is the most impressive. Without even me knowing, it’s exactly what I want which is pretty cool. Andriy is also really easy to talk to and is understanding of people and our relationships; some developers just code and it’s hard to talk with them. He’s the real deal.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Come with as clear concepts as possible and express your desired timeframe. Give a creative concept and allow Andriy to add his creativity to your concept.

What was the team composition?

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
While receiving the design to my likely was achieved, what I consider to most important was collaboration. Some designers want to do things the way they only envision and that typically leads to failure in the long run.
Working with Etheric was great, we exchanged ideas and discussed why certain things needed certain way. Etheric was a partner in the journey and not just another vendor.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Excellent. In addition to email exchanges, we used tools like InVision and Zeplin to improve workflow and communication.
