The goal of this project was migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2. We got complaints from the client about low page load speed of Magento 1 shop that had dramatical impact to conversion rate. I’m the founder of an e-commerce and mobile app consulting company. We connect our clients with a worldwide network of experienced outsourcing companies.
What challenges were you trying to address with Wise LLC?
One of our clients, a large cosmetics retailer, had a complicated Magento installation project with weak performance and non-working upgrades. Our goal was to increase performance and move the site to an optimized environment.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They cleaned up the Magento installation and fixed all dependencies and errors. They did extensive optimizations of the JavaScript and CSS code. Their team also set up the payment system correctly.

Two previous companies had failed to do the repair for this Magento platform. It was a complex project because there were so many errors. Wise LLC not only fixed the platform, but they upgraded and optimized it.

Wise LLC developed and launched a new Web Site . The project began with a discovery workshop, which let us be on the same side. Once all was approved, the actual production began in the form of 2-week sprints. The functional versions were ready for user testing and feedback every two weeks.

Team composition, or the configuration of team member attributes, is a key enabling condition for effective teamwork. The project team had about 5 people, but certain individuals would come and go depending on the skills needed. We had a project manager on our side and simply used Wise LLC recourse on demand.

Project was developed and launched exactly on time. Brilliant completion was a major achievement for us, we signed an extended contract with our vendors.

One of our clients has been using a custom built, but very outdated Microsoft Access application for in the field auditing. The application only ran on windows and had no central server, which forced them to use virtualization software and left a high probability of data loss. We hired Wise LLC to help us build a native MacOS application that synced with a Drupal 8 backend to replace the antiquated Microsoft Access application.

We needed a native MacOS application that supported working offline. We needed to generate pdf's on the fly with our without connectivity, and we needed a centralized database so administrators can access all data in real time.

We searched for a capable team through online sites like upwork and after reviewing past projects and several conversations, we were happy to hire Wise LLC.

They designed, developed, configured, and launched a new backend business management solution. The project began with a discovery workshop, which let us reach a mutual understanding of the business challenges and goals. Once we approved the workflows, the actual production began by developing the required webforms in Drupal 8. Once we had the forms designed in Drupal, including validation logic, the developers began work on the native MacOS application. Ultimately they took the forms and logic from Drupal and integrated with the native app, adding additional features including offline functionality, local storage and more.
What was the team composition?
We had 2 project managers, multiple developers and the Drupal side and multiple developers on the native app side.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
This was a large, complex project, but we were able to complete all requirements. While we are still a couple weeks away from deployment, the solution is being tested by the client team and we're experiencing an abundance of positive feedback. We've eliminated the need for additional software purchases / installations (virtualization software / windows), moved all data to a centralized backend, and enhanced the functionality through the use of modern software.

Project management was complex for such a large project but the team was able to effectively deliver on target deadlines and provided very fast turnarounds when issues arose.

We decided to use 2 project managers. This solution was created during the project. This happen because we clearly understand web development process and creating a new ideas.
One of PMs clearly understands the current situation and process. Another one can always generate new ideas. Sometimes they change his own places. From the business analysis phase to the release, development was carried out according to the Scrum methodology with two-week sprints.
At the end of each sprint, we received a part of the finished functionality. This approach allowed us to practice agile management of the development and change requirements on time in order to maintain the relevance of our product in the face of constantly changing business trends.
After the release, we switched to the Kanban methodology in order not to tie the implementation of tasks to sprints.
